Masquerade

"I'm not going to die because I failed as someone else. I'm going to succeed as myself." - Margaret Cho

Why are we so scared to be ourselves? Is it really and truely that bad? I can't imagine so. Its a lot of work trying to be something other than who we are meant to be. Can we be happy doing this? I don't think so. I've been there, I tried to be "someone else" just to be accepted by another person, because I thought it would make me happy. It didn't! Yeah, it might work for that person whose life seems so "perfect". But that's their life, not yours. And how do we describe that word "perfect". Can anyone give a material response to what perfection is? There isn't any ONE thing that can be perfection. What one person finds beautiful, another is disgusted by it. Throw your inhibitions on what is "perfect" out the darn window and take a good look around you. Find the beauty in the imperfections. It's what the world is made of.

Open up to yourself and find who you really are, before you open up to others. You'll end up a lot more content with where your life is at!
